An update to the Terence Crutcher case comes to us in the form of charging the officer that shot him, Betty Shelby. On Thursday afternoon, prosecutors announced that Shelby would be charged with manslaughter for her fatally shooting Crutcher. The release of the video sparked protests nationwide, and had us waiting once again to see if this time we’d get a conviction. Now, we’re a step closer. Though in the midst of this news, some are still not satisfied with this.
Some are wondering shouldn’t she be charged with first degree murder?
Betty Shelby charged with manslaughter……. Should be murder… This is ridiculous..

I don’t know if you’ve seen the footage, but if my nearsighted eyes serve me correctly, Shelby shot a man whose hands were in the air. It doesn’t help that no attention was given to Crutcher after being shot.
Tiffany Crutcher, his twin sister said, “This is a small victory. The chain breaks here. We’re going to break the chains of police brutality. We know the history.”
“Today, we are thankful to TPD, we are thankful to Chief Jordan for providing information to the District Attorney’s office, and we are happy that charges were brought,” said teh family’s attorney Damario Solomon-Simmons
Things are just getting started, but let’s hope that this is the beginning of the justice we’ve been seeking.
