Early Saturday morning in Alabama, 18-year-old Samuel Brown and 17-year-old Madison Sims were killed in a car accident after attending the Paul W. Bryant High School prom at Tuscaloosa River Market, AL.com reported.
Sims and Brown were pronounced dead at the scene of the two-vehicle crash at Skyland Boulevard East and Interstate 20/59. Sims was behind the wheel of a 2022 white Tesla, Brown was in the passenger seat, and two other female teenagers were in the backseat. At around 1:50 a.m. local time, Sims crashed into a semi-truck, reportedly pinning their vehicle under the truck’s trailer.

According to The Shade Room, of the two unidentified backseat passengers, Alabama police reported one 18-year-old female from Montgomery sustained serious injuries, while a 17-year-old female from Marion was treated for minor injuries, both at different medical centers.
Perry County School District announced the passing of both teens in a post on Facebook.
“It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Samuel Brown and Madison Sims. Samuel was a student at Robert C. Hatch High School, and Madison was a student at Paul W. Bryant High School,” the post read. “We extend our most sincere condolences to the Brown and Sims family.”
Both deceased teens were student-athletes at their respective schools. Brown was a football player at Robert C. Hatch High School in Tuscaloosa, while Sims was a track star at Bryant High School in Uniontown. They received an outpouring of love and condolences across social media.

According to AL.com, Madison Sims was remembered by a teacher as a “shining light to everyone she made contact with. Although she was quiet, her presence spoke volumes to her peers and adults alike. She will be missed dearly.”
“I’m really hurt it’s like I wish I could’ve saved y’all, man,” Head football coach at Robert C. Hatch High School Cyontai Lewis said in a Facebook post about Brown, “This man was the best (for real) not just an athlete a great person. … I thank you for everything brother. I thank god for giving me the opportunity to be in your life.”
There are no updates on the conditions of the surviving teenagers or the truck driver. Police are still investigating the incident.
